Gifts and Goals for the Week October 8th, 2012

Happy Thanksgiving!

After completely missing out on Thanksgiving last year, (I was in the States during Canadian Thanksgiving and in Canada during American Thanksgiving) it has been nice to join the forces of stuffed-with-turkey again. Yesterday a sweet couple in my church feasted me with a turkey dinner, and today my mom did the same. Yum! I just love Thanksgiving dinner!

It is different being in Canada for Thanksgiving. Its hard to describe, but it just feels different. Like the time of year is off (fall is just beginning as opposed to ending). It is not time to decorate for Christmas yet, which is what Thanksgiving always marked for us in the States. Its not Thursday. And the focus isn't on the Pilgrims. It's kind of weird, but that is how today feels. Still an enjoyable day, however! I have so much to be thankful for!

Oh, and it is also Carrie's birthday. Happy Birthday to her!

Here are the blessings that I added to my 1,000 gifts list this week:

438. Gentle words of hope and encouragement
439. Productive day
440. Safety for Judah
441. The Healer of my heart
442. Sweet blog comments (hint hint! :)
443. More free clothes
444. Caring church family

The goals I set for last week were....

1. Make 4 tote bags - made 3, still have one to go!
2. Work on new/updated printables - did this, and shared some with you here.
3. Walk 3 times - nope
4. Workout 3 times - need a new strategy, clearly
5. Finish reading The Embrace Of Grace and Mansfield Park

6. Begin reading Every Living Thing and Shiloh Autumn

7. Finish some deep cleaning in my bedroom - haha! Did some cleaning, but didn't finish
8. Send 1 email to a friend

And here are the goals for this week:

1. Try a new recipe
2. Decorate for the Harvest Supper - including painting pumpkins and carving apples. I'll be sure to show it all to you!
3. Decorate bulletin board
4. Make 1 bag
5. Start another sewing project
6. Write 1 email to a friend
7. Mending
8. Continue reading Every Living Thing and Shiloh Autumn

I'll be sure to let you know how it all goes down! In the meantime, what are your thoughts about Thanksgiving? Does it "feel" like Thanksgiving to you today? Anyone else doing some fall decorating? I'm anxious to get going on it!
